Dear Colleagues:
Well, I'm back for a while.
As for the question on amoxicillin sensitivity...we have known for some time
that in certain viral infections, the when ampicillin is administered, the
individual breaks out in a fulmonant whole-body rash. While we know
mononucleosis(EBV) certainly does this and others may as well. Further, it
is not a hypersensitivity to amoxicillin.
Secondly, I need you help on a project.
I am setting up a research project to study the microbiology of this
syndrome we're calling "Ductal Candidiasis". I have an idea that it may not
actually be candida but another fungus that is incredibly difficult to
culture. So I need your help in getting some preliminary data prior to
going for funding.
I've just set up my micro laboratory, so I need samples of milk from
mothers' that you consider to have 'Ductal Candidiasis', and I need them
soon. If I could get 50-100 milk samples from women with these symptoms, it
might help clarify this enigmatic problem.
So, if you currently are assisting women with 'Ductal candida-like'
symptoms, please email me directly for the collection procedure.
Regards
Tom Hale, Ph.D.
