Hello all. Another questionable company alert:
I noticed recently in my local Harris Teeter (for those of you outside
its sphere of influence, it's a grocery store, but a little more
upscale than a typical grocery store) flyers for the "Harris Teeter
Teeter Tots Baby Club." Of course I sent off for the info, and it
arrived today.
It's a flyer with inserted coupons and coupons printed on the actual
flyer. One of the coupons is for $1.00 of Similac powder. I am right
in saying that this violates the WHO code, yes? The text of the
letter from HT President Fred Morganthall II says, "We would like to
present you with the enclosed gifts as our way of letting you know how
important you and your baby are to us." Just below is a picture of
various products, including the Similac can (and a bottle of Coke?
What this has to do with infants, I can't fathom).
The flyer also have a bottle graphic in the center of one column.
Alas, I don't have a scanner. I hope I have described it adequately.
This club is for all new parents. It includs ongoing mailing, once
per month. I have no doubt the ABM coupons will be in those too.
If you are interested in writing HT, here is the info:
