Dear Folks:
To continue the thread about mucousy babies, and Susan Kay's wonderful
recommendation to do nothing, and just keep the mother and baby together.
A local hospital that does 5,000+ deliveries per year has come up with a
solution to babies vomiting mucous. They "snake" the babies: gastric suction
to vacuum out the stomachs. This is done also in response to more mothers
wanting their babies with them after birth, instead of in the nursery for
hours. Of course, babies don't want to nurse for a while after this
procedure, which is done on healthy term infants. AAAARGH!! Nikki Lee
