We don't have to put *everything* into the conspiracy package. People (like
tv producers) do things for many reasons: because they think it's a good
story, because they have a special interest, because they have a grudge,
because they don't have anything else to fill the time.
The transfer of power from the Church to the State happened over hundreds of
years. And the Church still has some power, after all. The transfer from
State to Corporation has been going on for a while, but it is fitful and
inconsistent, though inexorable. The State's power, at the end of the
process, will be in the domain of keeping people in line, so that they are
better workers and consumers for the multinationals.
This has a lot to do with breastfeeding, actually.
