How many of you teach mothers to roll nipples, etc. to cause them to
evert. I seldom if ever find it necessary or helpful. However, I
frequently find moms dutifully following the nurse's instructions
(evidently) to stimulate the nipple to make it erect while the baby is
rooting, looking for the breast. I tell them an erect nipple isn't that
important and help them latch the baby to the breast. Does anyone
actually find this ritual helpful?
