Patti, your credentials in dairy are much better than mine, I'm just an ex
peach farmer's wife. But I've hung around a lot of dairy people and read
their articles in farm mags. It is the old supply and demand bit, plus
some exclusive breeding. But it is still majorly supply and demand. Cows
are milked twice a day because it takes a long time, a lot of work and they
do have udders for storage. But if they were milked 6 times a day they
would make even more milk. It just isn't feasible to milk them so
frequently.
