Hi there, Lori -
I'm always so glad to hear from WIC peer counselors here on lactnet! I miss
my WIC job (breastfeeding coordinator) so much, and I wish I could tell you,
and everybody else, for that matter, how much I enjoyed working with peer
counselors at WIC. I have so much admiration for women who volunteer time
out of their busy, busy lives to help others understand how important
breastfeeding is, and how it can work for them; you guys are the true heroes
of this whole thing!
And thanks for your kind and thoughtful comments about the baby "bucket"
thing. Yes, what you have said is what I was getting at. Of course I didn't
mean to be critical of women who use them as one of their tools for doing
what needs to be done in a day's worth of errands, running around, etc; what
I meant was exactly what you said, and you said it beautifully and
accurately.
Best wishes,
Cathy B., Ithaca NY
