If it were really an effect of the breastmilk wouldn't it be a constant
problem? It would never be in an "isn't going on" stage, I would guess. One
mom here had a baby growing slowly, but developing normally, and having some
gastro symptoms as well, after 7 or 8 months of struggling against her family
and her Mds she finanlly did what they said and put the little girl on the
artificial milk the docs recommended. Turned out that there was never any
kind of primary protein allergy to breast milk -  the child was diagnosed
with Cystic Fibrosis. Breastfeeding, and this mom's confidence in herself,
were  driven into the ground. If the local LC who worked with her doesn't see
