Rob, & all,

To answer what you've asked - I ask how things are going and let mom talk.
I ask specifically about feelings and frustration and mention that some
moms feel "touched out".  I will mention that I've felt that way myself -
and that it doesn't mean you're a bad mom. [we all try to avoid situations
that make us feel like "bad people" or "inadequate people"]

I think that just acknowledging that feelings like this exist is an
important step.

I can usually "tell" - it's sort of a sixth sense kind of thing.
