Dear Lactnet
We have an interesting situation happening here with a mother who has
had difficulty getting pregnant and has been artificially inseminated.
She was also on the adoptive waiting list and has now learned that they
are getting a newborn in April. She is in the early weeks of pregnancy
but would like to continue with the adoption and wants to induce
lactation for this baby. Is there any reason that she shouldn't attempt
to stimulate her nipples during the early stages of an artificially
inseminated pregnancy? What literature is there to support the
recommendations?
Please e-mail me directly so I can pass this on to her promptly

Thanks,
Jennifer Molavi,
IBCLC
