One of the reasons I returned to LN land was because I found myself
slipping into the mothering-abyss. I have to say that my contact with all
of you is very important to me and the positive feedback I get really keeps
me going at times. I have a 9 month old, almost 4yr old and an 8.5 year
old (all homeschooled) and these rainy Oregon days/weeks/months really
get to me (and I'm on Prozac). I've been having a really hard time with
the fact that the moron who was hired at the same time I was in the same
Dept (same specialty) got tenure (and I quit mid way through my tenure
track to be a SAHM with some consulting and teaching). This guy didn't
even know how to do a statistical test (like a simple t-test). Anyway,
it's days like these that I wonder...what the hell am I doing at home with
3 kids when I have a doctorate from UCLA and lots of prestigious job
offers. I think, "Gee, did I hit the pinnacle of my career at 30 when I
had a solo authored article published in JAMA?" So, all of you pat
yourselves on the back because YOU do have an impact (at least on me).
Thanks!
