<< QUESTION: Is it dangerous to the eyesight for very nearsighted women to
breast feed? In Europe, especially Italy, doctors tell women with impaired
vision never to breast feed, but my U.S. gynecologist had never heard of
that
being a problem. >>
Wow, now there's one I've never heard! But now that I'm well into the
bifocal years, I see another one of nature's reasons for bearing our babies
when we're young - I can't SEE the babies' dear little faces at nursing
distance, or when they're cuddled up on my chest or shoulder. My arms aren't
long enough to get a good look at them even holding them out at arms'
length! And we'd all have terrible strained, crooked necks if we had to gaze
lovingly upon them through the close-up part of the bifocals.
Just another of Mother Nature's blessings, my dears!
