I've mentioned in the past my natural inclination for immediate
gratification. But, I actually often exhibit great patience in life.
As an example, here are some of the new recordings I want which are not
currently available to me:

Ravel Piano Concertos - Zimerman(DG), Duchable(Erato).
Chopin Piano Concertos - Duchable(EMI).
Mozart Piano concertos - Fellner(Erato).
Bach - Christmas Oratorio - Suzuki(BIS).
Marek Orchestral Works, Vol. 3 - Brain(KOCH).
Vaughan Williams Symphony No. 6 - Haitink(EMI).
Mozart's Abduction - Christie(Erato).
Beethoven Violin Concerto - Zehetmair/Bruggen(Philips).
Ireland String Quartets - Hollywood Ens.(ASV).
Poulenc Piano Works, Vol. 3 - Roge(London).
Haydn Cello Concertos - Kuijken(DHM).
Bach Chorales - Herrick(Hyperion).
Fibich String Quartets - Kocian Quartet(Orfeo).
Haydn Piano Sonatas - Andsnes(EMI).

You might think that a person requiring immediate gratification would
not take this deprivation lightly. Well, I'm not writing nasty e-mails
to web sites, or castigating store managers, or yelling at the dog - I'm
just whining to you.

Getting serious, the Andsnes/Haydn disc is the one I am most eager to
hear. I've loved his playing on previous recordings, and I have a hunch
that he might equal Reisenberg and Brendel in this repertoire.

So that this posting won't be a total waste, I'm going to print it out
and use it as my "guide" for a couple of weeks. I now have a cd player
in my car; I can listen to more music than ever.
