In a message dated 99-05-01 20:43:25 EDT, you write:
<< Today a nurse walked in as I was working with a mother to
give the depro shot, I asked, Did your doc talk to you about the
possible side effects regarding milk supply? Yes, she said it was OK. I
said that the manufacturer recommends that it be given 6 weeks PP. She
declined the shot! Yeah, one scrimmage won...
Dear Jane, by far I am sure that you are not alone! While visiting a group
mother at her request for help at a local hospital the same thing happened!
This nurse could see that I was not going to back down! She left and came
back with the package insert and she did read it , and then backed down! This
also happened to be the instructor for student nurses, and was a lesson for
the two students too!
The mother then proceeded to explain after our meeting some weeks later,
how thankful she was for a knowledgable and supportive person looking out for
her and her baby!
