Hi all, I'm wondering if someone knows more about this:
A woman lost her twins at 5 months pregnancy. She had severe engorgement at
the 4 and 5th day. Ob gives lactation suppressor (We think it was Parlodel).
This helps, but the woman experiences strong side effects: fainting.
After a couple of months she became pregnant. Her daugther is born fullterm
but sligthly dysmature. A very weak suck. Woman starts pumping. She pumps
for 7 weeks, but isn't able to produce more than 30 cc every pump session.
She never feels 'her milk comes in'.
now she is wondering if there might have been a relation between the use of
the milk suppressor and her failure to produce lots of milk.
I've asked her for fertility problems, and she hasn't contacted a docter for
that. But it took 2 years before she became pregnant with the twins.
Could it be true that the parlodel could have influenced her milk supply
after the birth of her next child? I think not, but do not feel certain
enough, since I do not know much about milk suppressors.
greetings,
