In response to Marilyn Norton concerning references for vitamin D...
Dear Marilyn, I have prepared a whole package of references and
references on vitamin D since last Fall and I still cannot convince the
pedatricians and the nutritionists from the regional committee of the
non sense of supplementing for ALL babies... And we did not have one
case of rickets in the Outaouais for the last 10 years and still... We
are proposing the prior evaluation of the mom/baby dyad first concerning
nutrition of the mom and sun exposure. We would like to stress the
importance of teaching the parents on this subject rather than
automatically supplementing as suggested in the Canadian guidelines...
I could share the references with you but they all usually well
known....it is just that I have put them together....
This week, I wrote a private e-mail to people I know in Scandinavia re.
researches in the northern countries on this subject since the
objections I receive are related to the low winter sun exposure...yes I
know...but...
Anyone else who could help us??? Thank you. Louise
