Jan, et al, Neocate is a WIC approved formula that is "Nutritionally
complete(sic), iron fortified formula woth 100% free amino acids,
lactose-free, milk-free, sucrose-free.  Provides 20 calories and .37 mg
iron per fluid ounce.  It is marketed by Scientific Hospital Supplies.  The
indications for use are; available to infants sensitive to intact proteins and
partially hydolyzed proteins."  So you are correct, a physician would try
this formula if he or she felt the infant still could not handle other
hyrolyzed protein formulas.
