Dear Pat,
it sounds like those babies may have had an early jaundice that could
have been ABO related or just normal physicolgical that then segued into
late onset or "breastmilk" jaundice once the babies were consuming large
amounts of breastmilk. If it is still high at three weeks and babies are
thriving, there really shouldn't be anything to worry about. This kind
of jaundice can sometimes hang around for months.
