I have had a baby in my practice who was off breast from 5 days to 2 months of age due to this condition. Mom used a haberman feeder with Portagen. She was an experienced nursing mom who had just recently weaned a 2 year old. It was hard for her to do the bottle, but she did. When she was given "permission" to nurse again the baby took off like a champ. The milk supply was maintained by a hospital grade pump. The archives may have additional info for you. There is a hospital that has used it's lab centrifuge to make skim breast milk for 3 babies with this condition. I spoke with this woman regarding my client and she had very specific instructions and ideas.. Sorry I cannot remember her name-hopefully in archives.
