"Chinese Ma Huang, Bladderwrack, Yerba Mate,
Valerian Root, Purple WIllow, Fumitory Herb, Papain and Coating Color:
FD&C Blue No. 1 Lake.
The "Beige" tablets contain Hawthorn Berry, Cascara Sagrada, Uva Ursi,
Alfalfa, Cornsilk, Parsley, Marshmallow Root, Magnolia Bark, Pau d'Arco,
Pfaffia Paniculata, Astragalus (Bai Chi), Fennel Seed, Golden Rod and
Licorice."
Well, I'm not one of the resident herbalists, but I wouldn't take that
stuff, nursing or not. Isn't Ma Huang another name for ephedra? which can be
very dangerous. Yerba Mate is a stimulant too, which can be quite harsh in
my experience. Cascara is a laxative, right? and parsley can lead to
decrease in milk supply (though I don't have a clue in what amounts it is in
this tablet). I've had a negative reaction to astragalus also.
You can skip The Shake - this would *give* me "the shakes". No wonder your
baby didn't like it!
