A friend of mine had a baby girl at the end of December, and she was told
by her doctor that because the baby is not breastfed (I know, I did what I
could!), the baby should have rice cereal added to her bottle starting at
one month. Mom was really looking forward to this new stage in her baby's
life. It makes me sad. There are a lot of people including some
physicians who haven't heard that rice in the bottle is out. On the bright
side, at least he realizes that breastmilk is providing more than the
formula does. I am still glad he's not my pediatrician though.
