Hello! It's me, Suzie the lurker again. I hope I am not bothering you with
this question, but I wanted to reach out and get as much information as I can,
and you all happen to be the most informative and intelligent group of
breastfeeding advocates I know.
A very good friend of mine is in the process of adopting. There is no baby
yet, but they are in the middle of the paperwork, evaluation, physicals,
etc.... They are trying to find a newborn, or as close to a newborn as
possible, because she plans to breastfeed the adopted baby. She is currently
the lactating mother of a 2 year old (she nursed all three of her children).
I (she) would like to know if anyone "out there" has information on nursing
adopted babies, as well as, with her "mature" milk, whether or not it is
necessary to supplement the newborn with outside sources and so forth.
Thank you so much for your time, thoughts and information.
