Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book has information about calcifications. They
are normal age related changes, unless they are clustered, in which case
they may signal an intraductal carcinoma. This woman sounds like she
has disseminated calcifications, which may be normal.
I find it interesting that these doctors are recommending bilateral
prophylactic mastectomy to this mom, when the favored treatment for
early breast cancers is now breast conserving treatment (lumpectomy) and
radiation....
