There's a fungus amongst us again! I find it so difficult to understand why
some physicians do not want to treat baby for possible thrush when they do not
have visible signs yet but, mom has definite symptoms herself. Yesterday, a
mom (who is a nurse herself) was prepared for her Peds response to treatment
for her non-symptomatic baby. I knew it would be a no win situation from the
start. His response to her was...."since she had this infection , the best
treatment was...treat yourself and pump and dump until cured...baby can go
back to breast thereafter". She will consequently, do preventative things
such as boil pacifiers etc....while treating herself. I just don't
understand? That was the icing on the cake for me that day...everything was
bonker's!
