I had a friend (also an LC) who had a baby with this "problem". Make
sure the babies are completely checked out medically. Turns out her son
had a duplex kidney with reflux and resulting infection. Rare I know and
two in one week probably not but other types of infection/ problem may be
causing an increased calorie need.
