Lori, My heart races when I read such a post. The doctor you mentioned
gave advice I've heard for a FORMULA-fed baby to your daughter, the
mother of a *healthy*, *thriving* breastfed baby! Aarrgghh!! You know
he's stuck in the dark ages! The AAP says "introduce solids beginning
in the middle of the first year" NOT "advance to full, regular adult
feeding pattern and supplement with a few breastfeeds" for heavens
sake! What about the study that showed that 7 month old
unsupplemented, breastfed babies were LESS likely to be anemic than
other babies the same age? I don't suppose it would be politic to send
him a copy of the new AAP Infant Feeding recommendations?
Just a thought....
