Dear Anne, I think the use of HCP came about so we didn't particularily
single out drs as THE only providers of health care.  We all know health
care is provided by drs, nurses, CNMs, NPs, PAs, LCs and numerous people
involved in RT, PT, OT      and so on.  I think the term is meant to be
inclusive, where simply saying dr. is exclusive.  Sincerely, Pat, NP in SNJ
