Florinef is Fludrocortisone Acetate. "It is a synthetic adrenocortical
steroid possessing very potent mineralocorticoid properties and high
glucocorticoid activity. It is ONLY used for its mineralocorticoid
effects. It is used for partial replacement therapy for primary and
secondary adrenocortical insufficiency in Addison's disease and for the
treatment of salt-losing adrenogenital syndrome." 1998 PDR. My question -
what exactly is the reason for mom to take this? Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
