Many of the "vacuum babies" we see, really have compromised suckling in their
first few days of life and increase risk of elevated bili's( which doesn't aid
their breastfeeding).  If baby is not feeding well, the goal is to PROTECT THE
MILK SUPPLY (by pumping) and FEED THE BABY.    sue carson
