I have a mom with Lupus and she breastfed just fine until about 7 months,
then her baby became very active and mom's kidneys started misbehaving and
putting her into kidney failure. Even with pumping, she's getting a very
low amount of milk. Baby is now 8 months, nurses well first thing in
morning, plus 3 other times of the day. I'm encouraging her to get back on
her meds for her own health, accept the baby's self-imposed nursing
schedule, forget the pumping, and be happy that she was totally breastfed
for 6+ months. I'm not asking for help for this mom, we are dealing with
the kidney failure and all, just relating the info for Opal. I am assuming
that most moms with Lupus would not have the kidney failure.
