Dear Karen:
I have seen an exclusively baby turn into a blimp by a few months of age;
the mother said that all her babies did that and all leveled off and were
"string beans" (long and skinny) by age 2.
But what about a metabolic workup for this baby? Are there any family
diseases? Family history of fast-growing babies? Is the baby's blood work
within normal limits for thyroid hormones and blood sugar?I can't see how
eliminating a feed would help except by making the baby burn up calories from
crying. Is the baby acting fine? Smiling, peeing, pooping, playing? If the
baby acts fine, could the wheezing be from something in the mother's diet?
Seems like there is a lot more that could be checked out here. Let us know
what happens. Warmly, Nikki
