The WHO document, previously url'd, discusses the problems of using paper
sticks, even with a glucometer. The document states that only whole blood
measurements of glucose are reliable. The problem is not only the
glucometer, which reads the stick more accurately than a human can (given
the few choices on the bottle), but rather the problem of the stick.
