I am an RN practicing in California. I don't know if this differs from state
to state, but when I got a needle stick, I'm pretty sure I was required to get
informed consent from the patient before her blood was drawn for HIV. Perhaps
this has changed? Or is my memory playing tricks on me once again? Any other
California RNs know for sure? Miriam Levitt
