Okay, the AAP says compatible. Hale says this is one of the better ACE
inhibitors. The cardiologists are basing their information on what? The
pharmacology? The weighing of the risk:benefits? What exactly?
The mother has the information above. She can make up her own mind. It is
not up to the cardiologists nor even the ones who are right to tell her what
to do. But if the mother needs an ACE inhibitor and this one is truly
contraindicated, according to the heart specialists, why not use captopril?
I've seen it used for many many babies, and no one worried about it.
