That is a very interesting hypothesis! If BF babies were at such risk for
serious complications from lack of Vit K, how did our species survive when
breastmilk was the ONLY food for an infant? Luck? I also wonder if the way
our society now lives in general, (pollution, chemicals, etc) is part of the
problem? I wonder if there is any way to do some type of research study
with moms who recieve drugs in labor and those who do not and then test the
babies for their Vit K levels directly after birth and then several days
later. Is it possible determine if a baby definitely needs Vit K. with a
blood test or something?
