My Girl Scout troop will be attending a workshop in a few months. It is an
official Girl Scout event put on by a Senior Girl Scout troop. The general
rule, at these events, is that siblings are not allowed. I spoke with the
senior troop leader about one of our leaders bringing her breastfeeding
baby. She felt it was reasonable that a breastfeeding baby be allowed to
stay with it's mother, but she couldn't find a loophole that would prevent
other mothers from complaining that their children (siblings of scouts who
are not breastfeeding) could not stay. She has been a troop leader for 25
years and this has never come up. I told her that I would do some
research. We hope to get something officially on the books that would
create a loophole for breastfeeding babies.
I would appreciate any and all information on how to get started with a
proposal.
