Dear Katherine Catone and lactnetters,
Thank you for the heads up on the misinformation on breastfeeding and
postpartum depression in the PA journal ADVANCE. I will personally pen
a reply letter to the journal. If anyone has any good bits of wisdom
about SSRIs etc. I would appriciate it. Certainly you can write one too,
but it might be more likely published from a PA. I know there are also
several other PAs on the Lactnet who I will privately notify. Thanks
for the tip. I think that PAs are as misinformed as the rest of the
medical community. I have tried to do my part to educate, including
speaking at the national conference. I was only luke warm recieved by
the powers that be, but after my talk, to 500 (approx.) I was mobbed by
people wishing to speak to me privately. Always a good sign.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Myers Coombs, PA-C
