A colleague shared that she remembers hearing at a conference that the
LC could add about 33% to 50% more to a test weighing to get a good idea
of what the baby would take in at home, in the usual environment and w/o
someone watching the mother and increasing her anxiety. (Sorry for this
long, run-on sentence.) What she is saying is that for a test weight in
the office showing a milk transfer of 42cc, you could estimate that the
baby takes 56cc (33% more) to 84cc (50% more). Do you agree with this?
Obviously I know that one isolated test weight may not tell you very
much. But do you buy the adding the extra bit?
