Dear Colleagues,
I've just, today, had a call from a woman who is about to adopt,
and is considering breastfeeding. In taking the history and looking at
maternal background, I learnt that she has polycystic ovaries - *no*
menstrual periods, never pregnant. In the three decades I have been
involved with relactation/induced lactation, I haven't had this
particular situation - well, we didn't ask all the questions we would
now, in the very early days.
I would very much appreciate some feedback, so that I can tailor my
advice to this Mum-to-be's specific needs, in case there is something
I've missed. Actually, I think one of the most pressing issues is going
to be to get her used to handling babies, and seeing other Mums
breastfeed, so that she's not on totally unfamiliar territory when the
baby arrives!
    Many thanks in advance.
