Dear Lactnetters and especially the drug experts:
A mom called me that her internist put her on klonopin and efflexor one
week postpartum for pp depression(she has a history of this-3rd baby). Ped
told her no nursing and she called to talk to me as the LC, I was on
vacation but the staff called me any way( of course I don't mind). I
I did an archive search and there is a little on klonopin, thanks to Dr.
Jack, I agree, bf usually outweighs the negative. So I have a little info on
that but could not find efflexor, she hasn't started that yet. She abm fed
today but will bf again if I can find support to continue and call her peds.
She also asked about St.Johns's wort, she is taking some, 300 mg. Again some
info in archives.
I would appreciate any help in advising her asap. Thanks in advance.
