I am a nursing student from the University of North Dakota and have been
reading Lactnet for the past two months. Having been a bf mom myself, I
too share a passion to educate the population of the benefits and joys
of breastfeeding. I guess that is why I've been especially bothered by Joy
Berry-Park's experience she described on Lacnet on Sept 16, 1998. From
reading Lacnet and studing the Literature, it seems there is a great need
for more social support systems for breastfeeding moms along with more
education from the nursing staff during
hospitalization (Brandt, Andrews & Kvale,1997) (Quinn,Koepsell &
Haller,1996) (Vari,1996). Are there inovative programs in place,
particularly
addressing teens, that others could learn from? Thanks in advance, Kellie
