in today's rocky mtn. news (the more bf friendly of the two denver papers,
which is not saying much) was the following tip:
"to obtain a copy of "tacts about fluids for your baby" a free fact sheet
compiled by the institute of pediatric nutrition, call (800) 721-5222. The
institute is underwritten by similac infant formula."
the good part about the above is that the paper mentioned the sponsorship of
this "institute." the weird part is that when i called the number, a recorded
message bragged about the various professionals in various fields (no names of
course) that were affiliated with the "institute," and then asked "are you a
breastfeeding mother?" the message went on to talk about how to know if a drug
was safe to take while breastfeeding, and if you wanted a fact sheet, leave
your name and number. naturally i am consumed with curiousity about my fact
sheet. perhaps others on lactnet who are in the usa want to call this toll-
free number for yours, as well!
and not one mention of similac or formula.
