The discussion about babies who grow very rapidly reminded me of one of my
favorite clients (whose pictures over time also grace my "Rogues' gallery
of beautiful breastfed babies".

He weighed 9 lbs at birth, 18 lbs at 2 months, 20 lbs at 4 months, 22 lbs
at 6 mo and 24 lbs at 1 year! He grew all that weight before he started
adding height (growing horizontally before vertically, in my thinking!) and
simply slimmed down as he added height to all that weight.

By the way, totally breastfed. At no time did anyone suggest this baby was
ill or had some condition.

Just another case of one.

(He was as heavy at 2 mo as my son was at 7 months!)
