I agree with those of you who see developmental problems in a child who
doesn't eat solids until age 2. But I'm sure that several of us know that
chewing does not preceed talking. Others of you probably have stories, like
mine, of a child who was talking long before she was interested in solid
foods.
My kids both talked very early (wonder why? :) ) and the first one started
solids at about 9 months, while the next wasn't interested until 12 months.
Neither had speech diffulties.
As usual, the family is blaming anything negative that is out of the norm
on breastfeeding. Why aren't people so quick to "blame" all those positive
outcomes that are out of the norm on breastfeeding?
