Had a mom call me last month to say her tubings with P___ In S____ had "water"
in them and she was worried molding would occur. After suggesting she make
sure her pump parts were DRY before using pump, I suggested she insert a drop
of alcohol into each tubing and turn pump on (without the breast attachments)
and the alcohol would help to dry out the water. Well, this worked fine;
however, she called again last week to say after several days of not pumping,
she noticed the tubes are moist again inside. What could be causing this?
Does she need new tubings? TIA. Loni Denman, RN, IBCLC
