One of our LLL group moms has endometriosis. Her doctor has advised
that he can do laproscopic laser surgery to try to "burn it off". This
procedure has been done on her once before. The doctor says that if he
gets in there and there is just "too much", he will have to do a
hysterectomy. Mom is OK with the hysterectomy in that her family is
complete but she is worried about the affect on her milk supply. Her
current nursling is 13.5 months. This mom has read about drugs
(specifically metoclopramide) sometimes given to adoptive or relactating
moms to stimulate their milk supply. If the hysterectomy would affect
her milk supply would these drugs or other measures help?
