Baby friendly hospital to close?

I think it will be a real shame, travesty of justice in the truest sense,
if San Luis Obispo Hospital---AFTER becoming Baby Friendly!---is closed!

Can't ALL the LCs and breastfeeding mothers (many of them, I understand,
are low income and where can they possibly get as good care as they have
obviously been receiving at San Luis Obispo Hospital) should picket in
front of the hospital DEMANDING that it be kept open.

If that is not possible, how about a MAJOR TRAINING program to bring the
other hospitals (are there any?) up to snuff so that they too can provide
the same quality of service? My understanding is that other nearby
hospitals are both atttitudinally and in other ways CLEARLY NOT baby- or
mother-friendly.

Someone needs to speak up in defense of these moms and babes and what the
entire community will be losing.....
