Wow, I just went through almost a week trying to change my e-mail address
with Lactnet after a buyout changed it for me. Finally got my DH, a
computer software specialist to do the fix, then still took some time.
I've been reading Lactnet all week and have been saving this one for your
input.
I had a mom, baby is now 8 weeks, call at 3 weeks with a very fussy baby and
a growling tummy at every feed. We did the food elimination thing and mom
gave chamomile tea, but while the situation improved, the baby was still
very uncomfortable. The docs were of no additional help. Mom talked to a
nutritionist at a local health foods store and based on her suggestions, mom
takes achidolpholus and bacillus (excuse my spelling) daily. Seems that
mom had gotten an antibiotic in the hospital for a possible infection and
that killed the good bacteria in the baby's intestines. I can't lay hands
on my notes right now, but if I remember correctly, the tummy settled down
within 3 days, and we have a different and happy baby in the house. Mom has
tried to cut back on the A and B, but the tummy starts growling again.
Mom's question is, how long before she can discontinue the A and B? One
good plus, mom lost the last of her pregnancy weight.
Jacie in Albuquerque, where it snowed most of the morning!
