Please bear with me (I am still in catch-up mode on LACTNET digests, having
been gone for the better part of two weeks (with one or two days in the
middle to rest and catch my breath if not the laundry).
Most all gay women who become pregnant breastfeed. Numerous studies of
their behaviors during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum support this
finding. Placing "Bottle-feeding without Guilt" in the gay/lesbian section
of a bookstore would not be helpful.
I have assisted several of these women and they were all VORACIOUS readers,
seeking as much information as they could possibly get their hands on. I'm
for putting the offending book title in the "true crimes" section
(brilliant thought and hysterically true, to my way of thinking!) OR where
I stick it--behind the car mechanics and tools books! :-)
