There is likely to be lead in mom's milk. If mom was exposed to lead as an
infant or child and had high lead levels at that time, the lead would be
stored in bone. There is a high rate of bone turnover during pregnancy and
breastfeeding with a release of lead into mom's blood and into her milk. I
would advise her to send the milk to the state dept to have the lead
measured. It is likely to be as high as mom's blood.
